Bård Kleppe

Key Qualifications:

Kleppe is an expert on the relationship between cultural policy, cultural administration, cultural production, and cultural participation. He has led numerous studies, evaluations, and research projects examining these relationships. For 15 years, Kleppe has delivered cultural and sports statistics to municipalities and counties, and he has also worked on international projects and within international networks. Methodologically, Kleppe has worked with both qualitative and quantitative approaches. He has an extensive publication record, ranging from short online reports and op-eds to reports, books, and peer-reviewed scientific articles. He also gives a wide range of lectures to the cultural sector each year. Most recently, Kleppe served as editor of the anthology Creative and Cultural Work in Europe.

Kleppe holds a master’s degree and a PhD in interdisciplinary cultural studies from the University of South-Eastern Norway. He was awarded professorial competence in 2024.
