Researcher
Helle Krone-Hjertstrøm is a sociologist and leads the Social and Ecological Sustainability research group. She holds a PhD in Health Sciences from UiT – The Arctic University of Norway.
Her academic expertise is primarily in health services research, qualitative methods, ethnography, implementation, and evaluation. Her research focuses on municipal transformation and health policy, with particular emphasis on how policy initiatives and new services are translated into local practice and how these processes shape everyday work, collaboration, organisational structures, and professional competence.
Throughout her career, she has participated in a wide range of research and evaluation projects, including the evaluation of Norway’s Action Plan against Violence and Abuse, studies of municipal practice and the organisation of municipal health and care services, as well as baseline assessments and needs analyses. She also has extensive experience in projects related to municipal public health, including the development of municipal public health overviews and the evaluation of public health initiatives.
Her areas of expertise include health services research, health policy, municipal transformation, municipal public health, social inclusion, health and care services, work life, organisational sociology, and nursing.
