In her research Linda Madsen contributes to new and different knowledge and understanding of current social processes and themes. She has 20 years of experience with interdisciplinary and practice-oriented qualitative research in Norway and internationally: Her PhD-project was based on fieldwork across large parts of Turkey. In a postdoc position in Germany, she participated in a large project that included planning, implementation and evaluation of simulation exercises in collaboration with researchers from various disciplines and partners from the field of practice led by the Red Cross Hessen, and she developed course on Corporate Social Responsibility. Linda leads or contributes in projects of various sizes and topics that methodologically involve fieldwork with interviews and observations, most often in combination with practice-oriented document analyses but also questionnaire-based surveys.
Since 2019, she has been employed as an associate professor at the Center for Care Research, South at the University of Southeast Norway, and since 2026 also as a senior researcher at Telemark Research.
